Heathrow World Championship ResultsOn Monday 29th May the Great Britain Sports Aerobics Squad flew to Riesa, Germany to take part in the 6th FIG World Sports Aerobics Championships.
The following athletes from the Heathrow team represented Great Britain at these championships. They were:
Accompanying the girls along with the National Coach were their personal coaches Gary Jarvis, who was the second coach to the GB squad and Natalia Ilienko-Jarvis.
The championships took place over three days, two days of qualification and one finals day. The squad trained for 4 days in Germany before competing.
In the trio section Anoushka, Kelly and Sarah scored 14.582 and finished in 23rd position.
In the female Individual section Joanne did a good routine to finish
24th out of 43 individual competitors. She scored 15.750, a personal best
score and the highest mark for a British Team member in the championships.
Only half a mark separated the competitors from 24th to 14th position,
so the scores were very close indeed.
